I love taking road trips. I spend inordinate amounts of time dreaming about road trips and planning road trips. (For example, I would like to drive from Denver to Anchorage.) My kids love road trips too, but only for about 2 hours and only if they can have a device the entire time. So, to combat this, I created a few different bingo cards to keep them entertained without screens.
Now, keep in mind that these are not your traditional bingo games. There are no cards or callers. They simply mark off a square if they see the corresponding object, and the first to get five in a row wins, or they can do the blackout option. There are multiple ways to mark off the squares. You can print off these cards and simply mark them with pencils or markers, or you can laminate them and use dry erase markers, or you can try stickers or reusable stickers. I have road trip bingo, license plate bingo, and fast food bingo, each with four different cards. Enjoy!
Road Trip Bingo
First we have these generic bingo cards for a long trip in the car, featuring all sorts of things you might encounter as you look out the car window.

License Plate Bingo
As a kid, I spent a lot of time looking at cars, searching to see if I could find some obscure license plate from a far away state. I always got a kick out of it when I saw a license plate from Alaska or Hawaii. Just a side note: since we live in Colorado, most of these license plates are from Western or Midwestern states.

Fast Food Bingo
I’ve been wanting to make this type of bingo for a while and I finally got around to it. I attended college on the North Shore of Oahu where there’s not a lot of development, which is wonderful because the land there is so stunning. But when I would return home to Colorado, I would look at new businesses like they were some kind of amazing scenery. I always like seeing new restaurants pop up, and it’s fun to hunt for my favorite fast food joints when I’m on the road. And so, fast food bingo was born. It’ll also help my kids develop the marginally useful skill of brand recognition.
